Come experience why ice skating is the most popular sport in the world. The Ice Vault Arena's international coaching staff will help you begin your skating excitement. Our Basic Skills program is endorsed by US Figure Skating and designed to be the best, beginning ice skating program in the world.
PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS. LATE REGISTRATION WILL RESULT IN DELAYING YOUR CHILD FROM GETTING INTO THEIR PROPER CLASS ON THE ICE ON TIME.

Youth Hockey Skills
The Youth Hockey Skills program is the next step on the road to playing hockey. Skating skills are a vital part of learning to play hockey. In this program, participants will work on their skating skills with a focus on hockey.
This program is for the beginner hockey player, that can skate forward unassisted and has passed learn to skate tot and or basic skills classes. The program is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating with and without a hockey stick. No pucks are used in this class.

Spring 2022 Program
Our Figure Skating Director, Karen Cohen-Prosnitz, teaches the Program. She has been a full-time professional skating coach for over 40 years. Karen is a US Figure Skating Gold Medalist having competed in Freestyle, Pair Skating and Ice-Dancing throughout the United States and internationally. She also trained in speed skating and power skating.
Karen has been teaching power skating, edges and turns to hockey skaters. Her skating techniques begin with understanding the interaction between mental and muscle function to train the entire body, using correct edge positioning and balance to increase power and agility. Fast efficient skating is the goal.

Cost: $400 for 5 one-hour classes*: Mon - Fri 2:15 - 3:15pm;
Minimum 3 Skaters, Maximum 10 Skaters per program
