Private Skating Lessons
Private lessons can be a great, beneficial way to help you progress in your skating!
- Lessons for beginning skaters to learn to skate and hockey skating lessons (no stick or puck) are permitted on Public and Freestyle sessions with an approved coach at Ice Vault.
- Lessons In figure skating (skaters Basic 5 and above) are conducted on Freestyle Sessions, as jumps, spins, programs, and test patterns cannot be conducted on Public Sessions.
All Ice Vault in-house instructors offering private lessons are compliant with U.S. Center for SafeSport Training, carry instructor liability insurance, and those that are 18 years old and older have passed background checks. There are two levels of instructors:
Ice Vault is proud to offer a variety of in-house instructors. Lesson appointments must be made in advance directly with the instructor. Walk-ins are not permitted.
U.S. Figure Skating Certified Coaches
These instructors are eligible to participate as a coach in U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned activities such as test sessions and competitions as they have completed the following requirements:
- Completed the U.S. Figure Skating Core Coach Certification course.
- Members in good standing of U.S. Figure Skating
- Current Members of Coach I.C.E.: U.S. Figure Skating's program for coach development, education, and accreditation.
- Agree to the USFS Coach Standards of Professionalism and Code of Ethics.
- Keep current certification/accreditation by completing Continuing Education Units annually.

Learn to Skate USA Certified Instructors
Learn to Skate USA instructors are not required to take the Coach Core Certification or join Coach I.C.E. Learn to Skate USA instructors are permitted to act as a coach at Compete USA competitions and events only.

All Ice Vault group lesson instructors are Learn to Skate USA Certified. Lessons are offered year-round!
