Learn to Skate Basic Skills Group Lessons for Ages 7-17

Six progressive levels introduce Basic Skills such as forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns.

Discover, Learn, and Play – Basic 1 and 2: These introductory levels allow skaters new to the lesson environment to build confidence while learning to skate with proper technique.

FUNdamentals – Basic 3–6: Once a skater has passed Basic 1 and 2, these levels develop the fundamental skating skills. The focus is on learning the ABCs of basic athleticism: agility, balance, coordination, and speed.

The curriculum offers something for everyone, from the first steps on the ice to mastering advanced techniques. This approach allows skaters to progress at their own rate and advance after demonstrating skill mastery.

Upon completing the Basic Skills 1-6 levels, skaters can confidently advance to more specialized skating areas, including hockey or Aspire figure skating.
