USA Hockey and the USA Hockey Atlantic District are excited to announce the 2019 USA Hockey Special Hockey Classic will be held at the Ice Vault Arena in Wayne, New Jersey. Special Hockey teams from around the country are invited to compete November 8-10, 2019.
The special hockey discipline is intended to give people with a wide range of cognitive and developmental disabilities the chance to play the sport of ice hockey in an environment that is adapted to the level of ability. The event will include 16 teams on a first come, first serve basis. Last year's inaugural event saw 10 teams take the ice at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Registration is now open and will close October 8, 2019.
All teams will play max. 4 games.
Opening Night social two outside heated big top tents live music dancing food & beverages.
NHL Alum’s Devils, Rangers, Devils mascot, National Sled hockey team Gold & world championship players, special guests.
Local & National media coverage, including NHL Network.
Every player will be receiving a USA Hockey 1980 jersey with his or her name on the back.
Opening ceremonies featuring team introductions, bagpipes & special guest puck drops NJ State Senator Paul Sarlo will address the teams & present a proclamation.
Silent memorabilia auction with a host of current NHL player jerseys.
